During my Greece trip a few weeks back, we spent a few days in Dubai. I know, it’s not like it’s just around the corner from Greece…we went for a reason. Leo’s best friend got married in Athens, and both the bride & groom wanted to share a few special days with their closest friends in a place none of us had been before. Dubai just happened to be that place.

I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ve never been to the Middle East and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit, given my family originated from there years ago. Granted, Dubai is nothing like where my parents came from, but it’s the closest I’ve ever been! One of the highlights of our trip was going on a desert excursion, and enjoying a home cooked meal out in the wild. Thankfully, I didn’t encounter scorpions, snakes, or any other desert creatures…except for camels, of course.

I was taken aback by the serenity and mystery I found in the desert that day. It’s got a beauty about it that I’ve never experienced. I’ve peppered in a few pics from our pool day at Nikki Beach as well..mainly because I’ve never been so happy to jump in a pool in my entire life (it was 105+ degrees out, after all). Looking back at these photos, I still find it hard to believe I was there only a couple of weeks ago.Moments in DubaiMoments in Dubai
