I’ve been obsessing over oversized blouses lately – particularly white ones. I keep discovering exciting new ways to dress them, soooo I end up wearing the same shirts on repeat. I can’t help it! It’s also been so hot in Chicago that oversized clothes are simply more comfortable to wear. Jeans are not an option, and form fitting tops are not known for masking how sweaty your pits are (so gross, but true). Blouses are versatile, stylish and comfortable, especially when you have the right fabric.

SHOP THE LOOK

Below are a few ways to wear an oversized blouse, based on my recent test runs!

PS – if you’re looking for heatwave appropriate attire right now, Old Navy has a ton of cute options for amazing prices…I recently bought these soft pants that I’m wearing here, and these linen pants. They saved me on the 90 degree days this weekend!

Pile on the accessories.

I’m not one to over accessorize, but I’ve been pushing myself beyond my comfort zone here and entering some fun new territory. Adding a skinny belt to a blouse not only accentuates your waist, but it also makes your look feel more pulled together. A scarf is another addition to consider – I love this one from Old Navy because it can be worn as a shawl, scarf or bathing suit cover up (all for $15!!).

Ways to Wear an Oversized Blouse

Tuck it in or tie it as a crop top.

A tucked in or tied blouse is such an effortless look and is super flattering when paired with wide legged jeans or flare pants. Another thing I’ve tried is tying a blouse over a slip dress – I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. It’s a really cute look to wear with platforms, slides or sneakers.

Add a layering piece over the blouse.

This one may be my ultimate favorite…after all, I’ve already tried it with a wrap sweater, a cropped knit and a sweater vest. I’ve found new uses for all these pieces I rarely wear! Suddenly, stuff that was tucked deep away in my closet now feels fresh & new. You can layer on sweaters, hoodies, crop tops, cardigans…the options are endless.

Thank you, Old Navy, for sponsoring this post!
