San Diego is a place Leo and I go often – one of his best friends lives there and I have family there too. It’s become our relaxation destination. There is something nice about visiting the same place every year where you don’t feel like you have to sightsee and explore…been there, done that. Because I’m the type of person who is always on the go (even on vacation as I want to make the most of every minute!), this type of trip is a necessity for me. I need a little bit of doing nothing for my own good.

That said, I spent the long weekend doing Pilates – by the way, I experienced “jump” Pilates for the first time in my life, and boy was I in for a surprise when I realized that I’d be jumping nonstop for 50 mins – blogging, eating delicious (bad for you) food, and spending time with my fam. My cousin has a four month old that I got to meet for the first time…I’m in LOVE. It’s so weird/awesome to see your cousins all grown up & having kids #adulting.

With my luck, the weather in Chicago was better than San Diego last weekend. REALLY?! Good news is that the overcast days made for pretty photos, so at least there’s that. I wore this cardigan from Zara a lot during the trip – it was perfect to throw on at night or during the day when it was chilly & raining. I took this office-friendly look & added some edge with fishnet socks & my new flats from Zara. Shop my look below!

PS – Stay tuned for my San Diego travel guide later this week! Can’t wait to share my fav places w/ you…here are a few SD food spots I love as a teaser.
