We always joke about how we don’t have a real spring in Chicago. Sadly, this is true. Our spring consists of 30+ degree drops in temperatures day over day, from sun to snow to freezing rain. This makes preparing outfits virtually impossible. It’s too cold to bring out the open toe sandals and dresses, and we’re all beyond over our winter clothes – so what do we wear while stuck in seasonal limbo? I stick with light airy blouses & basic tees with jeans, and add layers & light jackets to accessorize and stay warm.
Shoes can also be tricky. I’m so tired of boots at this point, so I’ve been switching it up a bit. I picked up these oxfords while visiting a friend in Lyon, France over the holidays. I love the green color; it adds an element of surprise for this otherwise simple outfit.

I have so many pieces I can’t wait to wear once the weather warms up! In the meantime, I’m doing my best to feel a little springy while still keeping warm. Would love to hear what you guys have been wearing with this crazy weather!
