This weekend, my mom and I drove along Lake Michigan, all the way up to Mackinaw City, MI. We woke up bright and early on Sunday to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island (trust me – I’m struggling getting these names straight as well). This island has no cars, only bikes & horse-driven carriages. Yes, this still exists in 2016. Shocking. It was, however, surprisingly charming and picturesque. I actually very much enjoyed it.

As we did a lot of exploring around the island, I wanted to wear something more comfortable. I’d normally resort to workout gear, but I’d basically been wearing that all weekend long and wanted to look somewhat cute for the afternoon. This is where this comfy (but chic) cotton midi-dress & kimono denim jacket came into play. Paired with my favorite white sneakers, this outfit was just what I needed for our little island excursion.
