You may have caught in my million Insta stories last weekend, but for those of you that didn’t…I was at my first NYFW! I went for a jam packed two days – and it was an experience to say the least. I landed in NYC on Saturday around noon, and rushed to get to Manhattan and make it to the Yuna Yang presentation at 3pm. It’s safe to say my first fashion show was my favorite of the weekend.
The biggest question – what to wear to NYFW?! It was a gorgeous day out (really, the entire weekend was ideal weather), so I decided to wear this monochrome number with some fun accessories. I’ve been rocking the head scarf look all summer – it’s SO easy and chic. You can’t go wrong. I added a bold lip and hoop earrings to finish off the look.
The Yuna Yang show was at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, a lovely historic building nestled in the upper east side. The show consisted of a runway followed by a presentation. The runway show took place in the garden, where the vibrant prints & textures of the collection complemented the beautiful garden surrounding us. I loved the designer’s unique take on bombers – she elevated the traditional bomber with different fabrics (including lace), and even extended beyond just the bomber jacket with sporty dresses. The presentation took place inside of the museum, with the models spreading across different rooms in the old house. It was really cool how her collection blended with the different colors & styles of the rooms in the museum. Somehow, she made her modern/funky designs meld perfectly with the antique vibe of the historical home.
As my first fashion show, this one was hard to top! You can shop the Yuna Yang collection here.
