I’ve found myself gravitating towards linen pieces as I’m shopping all things spring. They’re reminiscent of my days spent under the hot Athenian sun, and all the beautiful people walking effortlessly in their linen ensembles.

The boutiques in Athens have an abundance of linen, which makes sense because it sometimes gets so unbearably hot you can’t wear anything else. Given it’s a fabric most Greeks have in their closet, they really have to get creative with it. You’ll find the most beautiful linen dresses, skirts and pants in Greece, because they don’t look straight out of the Gap (I do love the Gap, don’t get me wrong, but ya feel me right?!). They have character, whether it’s their shape, pattern, design, that’s hard to find anywhere else.

I picked up these linen pants in Athens last summer, so you can imagine my excitement when I found this [almost] matching cropped jacket at Mango a few weeks back. I’m so happy to see this chic European trend having a major moment here…it’s about time! On those hot Chicago days (they’re coming one day, right?), a light and airy linen piece is a necessity! Below are a few linen pieces to shop ASAP, because before you know it, you’ll be happily sweating your ass off under the hot summer sun.
