1CHARLOTTE TILBURY PM SKINCARE
I used to keep my night skincare routine simple – mostly using face oil in between my retinol sessions. The Charlotte Tilbury team was sweet enough to send me a package to try out all of their skincare goodies – I AM HOOKED. I particularly love the Magic Eye Rescue and the Magic Night Cream. It’s creamy and feels like a dream. I also like that it’s not super scented (things that have heavy fragrance are not good for your skin)! I wake up with supple, hydrated skin to the point where a couple of days I forgot to put on my morning moisturizer.
2PEARL HAIR BARRETTES
Yes, you’ve heard me rave about these already, but I seriously can’t get enough! Adding these to my hair instantly elevates any outfit, and can turn around a bad hair day. I like pinning them around the face, OR if I have a messy updo going, I pepper them in the back. This set was $10 from Amazon. Currently working on building out my hair accessory collection further…
3DAVID’S TEA: CINNAMON ROOIBUS CHAI
I’m all about finding creative ways to curb my sweet tooth, and this Cinnamon Rooibus Chai tea was part of my daily routine until I ran out and neglected to replace it. I recently stopped by David’s and restocked – I’m in love all over again. I drink it after dinner (it’s caffeine free so it’s the perfect nighttime tea), and the sweetness from the dried apples and cinnamon totally prevents me from rummaging through my pantry for a sugar fix.
4BACKSTREET BOYS: DNA
To be completely transparent, I was more of an N’SYNC girl (mainly driven by my love affair with JT), BUT I had a good share of BSB moments in my day as well. They’ve been releasing new stuff sporadically the last 10 years or so, and I couldn’t get into it. BUT, they have literally nailed it with their latest album release (they got me with “Breathe”) – they even got a f*cking Grammy nomination!! Predicted to be their first album to be in the Billboard Top 200 in 18 yrs. It’s worth a listen.
5GEOMETRIC THROW PILLOWS
Now that we’re officially done with home renovations, we’ve been focusing more of our efforts in home decor. Our living room needed a lot of love (we FINALLY got a rug late last year!), and we’ve been working on organizing & putting things up on the walls. Our recent mission is to find the perfect throw pillows for our living room, and we fell in love with these geometric patterned pillows from Amazon. They’re $20 for a SET OF FOUR!! Yes, you read that right. Granted, they don’t come with inserts, but that is a STEAL. They’re not lacking in quality either! They come in a variety of patterns & colors, too.
6OPRAH’S SOULFUL CONVERSATIONS: MICHELLE OBAMA
I’m not one of those who loves EVERYTHING Oprah does (I do think she’s a bit whacky, tbh), BUT her podcast is actually worth tuning in to. She’s always been a great interviewer, and, as you can imagine, her guest list is top notch. I was a little late to the game, but a couple months back she did a two part interview with Michelle Obama (as she was promoting her book, Becoming). I listened to it a couple weeks ago, and was reminded of the respect & admiration I had for Michelle. She’s smart, funny, and what I love most – REAL. You can listen to part 1 and part 2 of the interview on YouTube.
7BENEFIT: BOMB ASS BROW KIT
I’ve had thick brows my entire life (including a scary moment in time where there really was ONE brow that as a 12 yr old I had no idea how to manage), so filling them never crossed my mind. I started experimenting with tinted gels a couple years back, and loved how it filled in the holes I had at the ends. I recently got the Benefit Bomb Ass Brow kit and this sh*t is NEXT LEVEL. My brows have never looked so crisp & clean. Watch me walk through how to apply the product in my eyebrow tutorial video.
8WHITE TIGHTS
I’m talking about the same white tights you wore to church on Sundays at age 6. They have them for adults (sometimes, meant for costumes), BUT I’ve been wearing them IRL. Break away from the standard black tights, and bust out a pair of these instead. The contrast with dark colors is so fun and spices things up in mid-winter when I’m literally OVER winter clothes.
9BRAZILIAN BUM BUM CREAM
IT’S NOT JUST FOR YOUR BUM BUM! I picked up this cream in the travel size to give it a go, and I’ve been using it daily to the point where it’s more than halfway done. It smells delightful – reminiscent of long summer days on the beach – feels so nice & soothing when you apply and it has kept my skin hydrated throughout the polar vortex. Will definitely be repurchasing!
10BLINDSPOTTING
The combination of our less than pleasant weather and a sickness that lasted four weeks has resulted in many couch bound days and movie marathons. One of the highlights was Blindspotting – a movie about two best friends who are Oakland natives, how they’re watching their neighborhood change with every day and also the struggles they face along the way. From gentrification, racism, and just growing up…this movie touches on all of these topics in the most raw way possible. It’s so damn good. Add to your watch list FOR SURE ;).
