One of my first style videos is up on YouTube! I had SO much fun putting this together and hope to create more content like this (if you guys like it, of course!). Tell me what you think in the comments!

I wanted to show you guys how I’ve been styling summer pieces in this transitional period where the weather is still warm but we’re all dying to bust out our fall gear. I know I’ve done a quick recap on some pieces you can transition into the new season, but I wanted to take it a step further to show you how I’m styling my looks. Here, I’ve taken five summer outfits and transformed them into trendy fall looks. Details on all of the looks below!

look #1: slip dress + duster

Floral slip dress (vintage): similar here | Levi’s Denim Jacket (vintage): similar here | Flatform Sandals (from last year): similar here | Rose Duster (old from SheIn): similar here | Grey Wool Scarf: ASOS | Silver Boots: IRO, affordable ones here

The classic slip dress, taken from summer to fall. This was a vintage purchase (just last weekend actually), from one of my favorite vintage shops in Chicago. It fit me like a glove, and I love the subtle floral print and the lace detailing. In the summer, I’d wear this look with my go-to flatform sandals and a denim jacket. For more of a fall vibe, I swapped out my denim jacket for my rose duster, and my sandals for silver ankle boots. I added in my wool, oversize scarf as an extra touch, and belted it along with the duster.

look #2: metallic mini + blazer

White Crop Top (Celine): similar here | Metallic Leather Mini (vintage): similar here, more affordable version here | Utilitarian jacket (vintage Armani): similar here, more affordable version here | Buckle Bag (Italy purchase!): similar here

I adore this metallic mini skirt, and wish I had more opportunities to wear it. It made a couple of appearances this summer, but not as many as I would’ve liked! In the summer, I styled this skirt with a white tee and a denim jacket. To transition it to fall, I swapped out my sandals for my silver boots and added an oversize blazer and a neck scarf. I like how the length of the blazer complements the length of the skirt – it’s just SLIGHTLY shorter than the skirt, where you can see the metallic peeking through.

look #3: neon green + poncho

Lime Green Linen Pants (vintage): similar here | Short Sleeved Turtleneck (old): similar here | Lucite Block Heel Sandals (Target – sold out): similar here | Knit Poncho (SUPER old): similar here | Western Booties (old from Topshop): similar here | Black Circle Handle Bag (Italy purchase): similar here

THESE LIME GREEN PANTS…they’ll never get old. I’ve styled these in various ways this summer (including with a ruffle sleeve top), but in the video I showed a simple summer look with a spandex, short sleeved mock neck top and my lucite slip ons. Fall neons are an actual thing this year, so I thought these pants would be perfect for the purposes of this post! I simply added on a knit poncho that I’ve had for AGES (yes, poncho, I have one of those). This poncho has been sitting in my closet for years unworn, but I always held on to it knowing the time would come to bring it out. NOW IS THAT TIME! I’m actually excited to wear it this season. Lastly, I swapped the block heels for a western bootie, another hot item this season!

look #4: leopard print & leather

Leopard print skirt (homemade!): similar here Toe Ring Sandals (Greece purchase): similar here | Metallic Balloon Sleeve Sweater (Free People): similar here | Patent Loafers (Italy purchase): similar here | Cropped Leather Jacket (Alice & Olivia – old): newer version here, affordable version here

Leopard print is EVERYWHERE rn, and I’m into it. I never thought I would be, but for some reason (maybe it’s partly because I’m older now!?), I am loving it and can’t get enough. I had my mom make me this beautiful silk leopard print skirt before my trip (you’ll see me wearing it in Florence in my post later this week!), and it’s so lovely I just want to wear it indefinitely. For a standard summer look, I wore it with a black top and these adorable toe ring sandals I picked up in Greece (PS – You can see all of the other items I got on my trip here). For my fall look, I paired it with a metallic balloon-sleeved sweater, patent loafers and a leather jacket. I like how the balloon sleeves peek through, even with the jacket on.

look #5: biker shorts + checked blazer

Biker Shorts: Urban Outfitters | Oversize Blouse (vintage): similar here | Checked Blazer (Target, last season): similar here | Black leather belt (vintage): similar here | Riding boots (Ted Baker): similar here

The standard biker shorts and blazer outfit! I loved wearing my biker shorts with just an oversize blouse in the summer months, and a pair of sandals. To make the look more appropriate for fall, I swapped my sandals for a pair of riding boots (another classic I’ve had for ages!) and a checked blazer. To elevate my look, I added a black croc leather belt with a large buckle. Fall is for layering, and I loved how all of the layers worked together in this look.
