Safari Dress: Vintage, shop below for similar ones! | Shoes: Mango last season (similar here) | Bag: Need Supply, Modern WeavingLipstickNars Audacious in Juliette

Is it just me or is this week DRAGGGINNNG?!! I’m still exhausted from our weekend errands – on Sunday, we replaced about 40 planks on our roof deck. Yes, on our own (with the help of friends). I’m still winded from all of that…and even spent this afternoon adding in the last few screws to the new planks. Who am I?! This weekend, we’ll be power washing & re-staining. If you don’t know what any of this means, please continue living in oblivion. I envy you.

Between recovering from vacation and our house work, I squeezed in time to head to my favorite vintage event in the city, Vintage Garage. I didn’t go too crazy there this time around, but this safari dress was one of the two things I came home with. This is not something you’d typically find me wearing, but I loved how much material this particular dress had. It just sits so nicely with a belt. Since the dress is fairly simple, I spiced it up with funky, bold accessories and an orange lip. With a few additions, the dress felt super chic…not so plain after all.

Below I’ve linked to five safari dresses to shop – some are near identical to mine, others have a little twist!

Soft Safari Dress, Frame Denim

This dress is a great basic! The slit makes it a tad sexier, which I like. I’d roll up the sleeves & swap the belt out for a leather waist belt…maybe even a metallic one if I was feeling really adventurous. For shoes, I’d go with slides, sneakers or low block heels.

Suede Shirt Dress, Victoria Beckham

This one is sorttt of like mine, but also a completely different ball game. I know, it’s a splurge, but the color is STUNNING, and it’s suede for crying out loud. I’d pair this one with white or metallic shoes – either sandals or ankle boots would work!

80s Khaki Safari Dress, Etsy

Yay for vintage! This dress is a killer deal – snag it while you can! I’d do black accessories (similar to how I wore mine) and spice it up with oversized shades or a head scarf.

Cargo Dress in Army, Revolve

Another awesome basic piece – this one I’d wear as a dress or over pants. Dainty gold jewelry or tassel earrings would pair really nicely with it (a coin necklace would also be perfect!).

Cotton Chino Shirtdress, Ralph Lauren

I know what you’re thinking…”this looks like something my mom would wear”. Yes, I agree, and that was my first impression of the dress I got too! Accessorize with trendy pieces, and think outside the box. This dress could even double as a jacket – I’d rock it belted over cropped jeans and a vintage tee.
