SPOILER ALERT: I’m leaving for my Greece/Italy trip in T-2 DAYS!! Those of you who subscribe to my monthly newsletter got the scoop on where I’m headed first (get on the list for all the insider dish!). I’ll be heading to Antiparos (first time!) and Mykonos in Greece, and then headed to Rome, Florence and Venice (I’ll be meeting my brother in Italy, and we’ll likely want to murder each other at the end of the trip, HA!). I’ll be blowing up the gram, so be sure to follow along there for the latest.

I CAN’T WAIT, but I’m also super stressed. Packing and preparing for a long trip is mentally exhausting. What if I forget my favorite lipstick?!! #diva. Anyway, bottom line is, the trip to Europe is LONG, and well, airplanes suck. That’s why, today, I’m sharing the “few” (a-hem, don’t judge me for all the sh*t I bring on the plane, I swear it’s life changing) items I always bring along for any long haul flight. I shared a similar list AGES ago, but this one is updated and more comprehensive.

Check out the video for ALL the dets, and I’ll recap the products featured below as well 🙂

water bottle.

This may seem intuitive, and maybe I just REALLY didn’t know what I was doing before, but bringing on a large water bottle is critical. They never give you enough water on the plane (I’m sorry those “mini cups”, really?!), and staying hydrated is so important for your skin and also helps with jet lag. I bring on a massive water bottle that I refill at every airport we stop at (& sometimes I even ask the flight attendants to refill – ya, I’m that person).

bose noise cancelling earbuds.

These ear buds are LIFE. Leo got them for me last year before a big trip and I swear by them now and couldn’t travel without them. They’re extremely comfortable (& come with different size attachments so you can pick the ones that fit your ears best), and cancel out EVERYTHING. This includes screaming children and just the normal plane sounds that is SO loud and makes it hard to nap.

anker battery pack.

You probably already saw this in my July Ten roundup, and you bet I’m bringing it on this trip (& every trip indefinitely). It holds about 4-5 charges, and charges my phone at lightening speed (like, 30 mins). Being phone-less while traveling is AWFUL, especially during flights when you need your music, shows, etc. This has already saved my life on many occasions.

cabeau travel pillow.

Yes, I’m a dork. But ya know what, I don’t even care because this thing is that comfortable. That feeling of falling off a cliff while you’re in a deep sleep? BIEEEE. It’s gone when you wear this. You’ll get the best sleep on the plane that you’ve ever had, with no neck cramps and head bobs. This pillow is snug around the neck, AND condenses to fit in your backpack. Legit, there are no negatives. Get it.

dr. plotka’s travel toothbrush.

Warning – this is gross, but it’s fact. Bacteria grows in your toothbrush, especially when you travel and your brush isn’t fully dried and being thrown around in your luggage. This toothbrush is antibacterial, which means it eliminates 99.9% of bacteria on it within 6 hours. It’s like using a brand new toothbrush every time! It folds nicely so you can toss it in your backpack, purse, whatever.

neutrogena makeup wipes.

These wipes are AMAZING. They will get off even your waterproof makeup. I try to maintain as much of my nighttime routine as possible on long flights, because you don’t want your makeup (& added dirt from the air on the plane) sitting on your face for 16 hours. I use these wipes before napping and also in the AM to clean my skin and avoid breakouts afterwards. They come in travel size as well, so you can toss them in your carry one bag.

neutrogena hyrdoboost hydrogel mask.

Next skincare necessity is a solid sheet mask. My skin feels like sandpaper when I get off a long flight, and I’ve found popping on a sheet mask for added hydration totally helps. Now, I haven’t tried this mask yet, but it has stellar reviews, so I grabbed a couple to bring on the flight. I’ll report back on how they are once I try them! Bottom line is, bring along your favorite hydrating sheet mask. You won’t regret it and your skin will thank you.

glossier balm dotcom.

Don’t forget about your lips! I’ve had too many traumatizing experiences where my lips are dry as F after flights, and I refuse to let it happen again! I bring along my fav lip salve, the Glossier Balm Dotcom. This can be applied on lips, elbows, cuticles, literally anywhere you have dry skin. It’s one of my Glossier favorites.

herbivore phoenix facial oil.

I’m crushing hard on everything Herbivore right now. Their products are high quality and so effective. After the makeup wipes, I apply this facial oil on to further hydrate and protect my skin for the remainder of the flight. All of their facial oils serve different purposes, this one happens to rehydrate and regenerate dry skin, so it’s perfect for travel (& it’s just the right size!). It also smells SO delightful. I feel like I’m just rubbing flowers all over my face.

herbivore rose hibiscus mist.

Nothing will make you feel more refreshed than a good face mist. This one is the REAL DEAL. It’s a mixture of coconut water that’s infused with hibiscus flower and rose water. I makes you feel like a million bucks on top of hydrating your skin (& makes it look nice & dewy, which is always a bonus).

life is good comfy socks.

Ugh, yes I AM A NERD. My feet swell on planes, and sometimes I need a break! Don’t judge me! These socks are so soft and comfortable, I have like 4 pairs of them. I wear them around the house, and also bring along a pair for a long flight in case my feet need to breathe and I want to feel a little more comfortable. You don’t want to be the gross barefoot person on the plane, so bring a comfy pair of socks and you’re set.
